On the app.ideamarket.io page, you can connect a wallet in a few different ways, such as by...
  • Clicking on the 'No Wallet' button in the top right hand corner

Each of these actions triggers the wallet connection popup.
Select the wallet you wish to use (we recommend Metamask), and follow the prompts in your wallet to finish connecting it to Ideamarket.

Bridging Crypto to Layer 2 (Abritrum)

Ideamarket now runs on the Arbitrum Layer 2 solution which dramatically lowers transaction costs.
In order to transact on Ideamarket, you will need to move some of your tokens from layer 1 (Ethereum) to layer 2 (Arbitrum). This is called bridging. For the time being, you will need both Ethereum to pay gas (transaction) fees, and DAI for purchasing tokens.
Steps
Video Walkthrough: Bridging Ethereum to Layer 2 (1:19)
Video Walkthrough: Bridging ERC-20 Tokens to Layer 2 (1:28)
To bridge tokens to Arbitrum (layer 2):
  1. 2.
    Connect your wallet
  2. 3.
Select which token you'd like to bridge to Arbitrum (note: Ethereum is necessary to pay for gas fees on Arbitrum, and Ideamarket only accepts DAI for purchases for the time being.)
  3. 4.
Enter how much of the token you would like to bridge
  4. 5.
    Click 'Deposit'
  5. 6.
A warning will pop up indicating that it will take 10 minutes once the transaction is confirmed to see your balance on Arbitrum. Click 'Deposit' to confirm
  6. 7.
Confirm the transaction in your wallet. (note: for ERC20 tokens like DAI, your wallet will require two confirmations)
  7. 8.
Underneath the bridging interface, you will see a status indicator for the transaction you authorized. After a few minutes, the 'Deposit' will be confirmed on layer 1. The deposit to layer 2 will then be initiated and could take up to 10 minutes

Buy Tokens

Steps
Video Walkthrough (1:12)
Once you have connected a wallet, you can buy tokens for Ideamarket listings. To do this:
  1. 1.
    Go to app.ideamarket.io
  2. 2.
Find the listing you want to buy. If you don't see it, search for it in the search bar.

5. Enter the amount you want to spend, or the tokens to buy, in either of the fields. Click 'Max' to enter your entire balance for the selected currency.
6. (optional) Selecting 'Lock for 1 year' will disallow you from selling the tokens of the listed account for 1 year after purchase. This allows you to signal your long-term confidence in a listing, reducing risk for future buyers.
7. Click 'Buy', confirm the transaction on the wallet you are using, and wait for the transaction to process. This can take a few minutes. 8. To check the balance of tokens you have purchased, you can do so by either: a) Clicking on the the 'Wallet' navigation menu item. 'My Holdings' is where you can find the accounts you have bought tokens for and 'Locked' is where you can find the accounts you have made locked purchases for.
b) Navigating to the listing page
Your balance of tokens available (unlocked only) is shown in the purchase form on the right side of the listing page.
